The immortality of a genuine argument is probably what is most looked for by directors and producers. This movie in my opinion is unarguably the clearest representation of filmographic imperishability. In this one George Lucas gathers a virtuously designed nexus between the fifth and the 6th movie of the saga. However, this movie is by no means fault of action or memorable moments. Here we discover the relationship that lies between Luke and Darth Vader. George places us in front a very decisive moral dilemma: Will young Luke grow prey of fear and hate like his father? or by the contrary, will he become a jedi? or in other words: will he save the day and defeat Darth Vader? or will he join him and Palpatine, screwing it all up? I was glad to see that in this movie, the hard challenge to which the actors were subjected was passed by all of them flawlessly. I was specially thrilled by the way mark Hamill succeeds in showing us with great sophistication the metamorphosis Luke is undergoing, evolving from an ignorant crybaby, into a mighty and wiser jedi. The way his motifs become more altruistic and less egocentric in such an adverse situation makes us watch a man handling a light saber and no longer a boy. This simply broadens the range of ages that will be adhered to this particular movie. Carrie fisher and Harrison ford excel at their role and add the necessary spice to the film. Resorting to the child-pleasing comedy provided by C3PO or R2D2 was thankfully not a major concern in this movie.
As I expressed, in my opinion the dialog is more adult-compelling. Nonetheless(and I see this as a positive thing) we don't have to deal with insufferable doses of complex political debates which were a constant in the first trilogy, were the rise to power of Palpatine was empire strikes back was more of a character- based movie. Here we are more concerned about the growing affection between Han and Leia and the evolution of Luke and his understanding of the force, than we are concerned about the oppression of the republic on the rebel forces. With this movie, one can notice that a family is beginning to be forged. We can feel this through the fears and preoccupations of the troop as each particular character confronts successive threats (e.g when Han is frozen into carbonate)
Visuals in this movie are breathtaking. I was impressed when I watched the arrival of the millennium falcon to Cloud City or where Han and his cohort were escaping the clone offensive (near the start of the movie. The CG textures were noticeably polished from the previous movie. This film was able to isolate me from the real world and to induce me to a thrilling utopia.
The 'epicnes' of the music and sound effects cannot be exaggerated, but as Lord Sith said, I had fore-seen this. Music is always topnotch in the saga.
The argument was inventive and unpredictable all along. The movie broke free from fantasy films monotony and did not end with a "happily ever after" felt very refreshing for me.
This only leaves me to add: CONGRATULATIONS GEORGE! you're the best at what you do! and thank you for providing me with a world were my mind can teleport to to find true joy every once in a while. Without a doubt I give this movie a 10 out of 10.
